Confronting big problems, like suicide within the military community, requires a multi-dimensional approach. There is no single organization that can solve it in isolation. There is no one discipline that holds all the answers. It is only when we join together across disciplines, organizations, and areas of expertise that we can find intersections that lead to true and lasting change. We are so fortunate that part of our ecosystem of support is the Lundbeck US Charitable Fund.

Founded by the US affiliate of H. Lundbeck A/S, a global pharmaceutical company focusing exclusively on brain health, the Lundbeck US Charitable Fund is an independently managed nonprofit 501(c)(3) committed to responsibly and appropriately supporting organizations and programs that share our dedication to advancing brain health and transforming lives.

The Lundbeck US Charitable Fund is committed to addressing gaps in care. We know the reality that veterans are 58% more likely to die by suicide than their civilian counterparts speaks to a major gap and need. In their recent Impact Report, they shared, “The Fund is making significant commitments to amplify and expand the reach of incredible organizations that are supporting the mental health of our veterans throughout the US.” The fund contributes to organizations that demonstrate missional alignment with Lundbeck’s purpose: advancing brain health, transforming lives, and accelerating efforts to build a healthy, sustainable society.

Additionally, the Foundation endeavors to support innovative approaches that will foster continued progress. ROGER Wellness Services is science-backed, suicide-specific care for veterans and service members who need it most. The Black Box Project is a growing initiative that provides crucial, novel insights into suicide. Together, ROGER and the Black Box Project integrate their findings to create our strategic framework for combating suicide within the military community.

We have been so fortunate to have the support of the Lundbeck US Charitable Fund since 2023. Over those years, we have felt their support and impact as they serve as “the wind in our sails” - helping us advance in our reach and impact as an organization. Nearly one-half of all military suicides occur in 10 states; as such, our top priority is to ensure ROGER services are always available in these states. Their contribution has allowed us to continue providing this critical care while also strategically expanding into other states that have a higher percentage of veteran suicides.

We are deeply grateful for the support of the Lundbeck US Charitable Fund! Their significant support is helping us as we remain relentless in our mission to provide veterans and service members with leading-edge care and support, ensuring that they are no more likely to die by suicide than their civilian counterparts. Our shared emphasis on brain health and saving lives brought us together and continues to transform the lives of individuals while also helping create necessary change in communities across our country.
